70年代中盤にUKで活動し、ブルーアイドソウル〜ファンクを軸に洗練されたグルーヴを聴かせたバンドKokomo。75年リリースのセカンド・アルバムとなる本作は、Millie Jacksonの作品も手掛けたベーシスト／ソングライターBrad Shapiroがプロデュースを担当し、より黒さとポップさのバランスが際立った仕上がり。Danny KrivitやRahaanのリエディットでも知られるA1「Use Your Imagination」は、軽快なリズムと高揚感ある展開が魅力のファンキー・ディスコナンバー。続くA2「Little Girl」はソウルフルな歌心が光るファンクトラック、A3「That’s Enough」は泣きのメロディが沁みるメロウR&B、そして太いベースラインと熱量あるヴォーカルが印象的なA4「Rise And Shine」へと流れる構成も秀逸。B面では、幻想的なイントロから女性コーラスが優しく包み込むメロウ・ジャムB1「Without Me」、安定感あるグルーヴのB2「Do It Right」、心地よいソウル・ナンバーB3「Angel Love」、そしてドラムブレイクで幕を開けるB5「Feelin’ Good」まで、アルバム通して隙のない内容。ソフトロックやポップス好きにもフィットする、完成度の高いUKソウル／ファンク好盤です。
